India Day celebrates everything Indian! Come and immerse yourself in the enchanting colours, tastes and sounds of India. Muziekgebouw Eindhoven’s foyers and stages will be offering live performances of dance and music, taste delicious Indian food and find beautiful creations by Indian designers.

India Day celebrates everything Indian! Come and immerse yourself in the enchanting colours, tastes and sounds of India. Muziekgebouw Eindhoven’s foyers and stages will be offering live performances of (traditional) dance and music, taste delicious Indian food from all regions at the various Bazaar stalls and take part in free workshops on traditional arts and crafts such as yoga, Kalaripayattu and Madhubani painting. During India Day, we bring you enchanting sounds from India. Both in the afternoon and in the evening, you can enjoy performances by the best Indian artists. Like Bollywood singer Angel ArunA, who has a unique ability to touch your heart with her voice. She is a well-known name in the Surinamese-Hindustani and Indian communities and provided the soundtrack for "Zoop in India," the movie that was successfully screened in theaters in 2006. Additionally, you will be delighted by the fusion sounds of Athreya Fusion. This band, consisting of 18 musicians from Europe who work and present Indian music! And the dance floor comes alive with The Indian Dutch Ensemble. This band brings a combination of old and new Bollywood disco numbers that will leave you with no option but to dance. Also DJ Balli Kalsi will keep the party going. This international award winning Bollywood DJ always plays PAN India Music so everyone can enjoy.
From Mumbai: Rajeev Raja Combine
During India Day we host Indian artists from all over Europe, and with The Rajeev Raja Combine also direct from Mumbai! This band is one of India's most exciting indo-jazz fusion bands. With a stellar ensemble of accomplished musicians, the band, fronted by renowned flautist Rajeev Raja, enthrals with its original compositions which blend Jazz, Indian Classical, Latin and other World Music elements into a cohesive whole that's truly music to your ears!
Traditional dance
Especially for India Day, all dance schools of Eindhoven join forces on a three-hour programme performing all Indian dance styles. Enjoy the traditional Odissi, Bharata Natyam, Kathak, Mohiniyattam and Andhranatyam styles at 'Natya Nectar: A Celebration of Indian Dance'.
Fashion Show
A saree is a long strip of unstitched cloth, which is draped by Indian women – it practically typifies Indian women & showcases the vast diversity of Indian culture as a whole. It is something that can be interpreted in so many ways. V-Teach Fusion Fashion Show 'Six Yards of Love' will showcase tradition, innovation & creativity along with an ecstatic audio-visual experience
Workshops
Are you curious about traditional Indian arts? Then join the workshops taking place this day for free. Learn about the martial art Kalaripayattu door Kalari Amsterdam or engage in Madhubani painting. Relax during the yoga workshop with teacher Ankesh Singh and learn about the holistic health art Ayurveda.
Children's programme
India Day is for the whole family, including children. Throughout the day, there are plenty of activities for them to enjoy. There's a bouncy castle, and they can participate in engaging workshops. At Mad Science, they'll learn about the fascinating properties of light and get hands-on with experiments. They can also have their faces painted as the most fantastic characters or get a beautiful henna design done. All these activities are included in the child's ticket, which costs only €5.
Bazaar and food
Throughout the day, you can visit market stalls run by Indian entrepreneurs at the lively bazaar. Your taste buds won't be disappointed today. During India Day, you can savor the most delicious food from all regions of India and enjoy typical Indian Desi drinks.

Krish Gupta, director of The Gandhi Centre, Embassy of India, is giving a talk about the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Philosophy: India's Perspective on Global Harmony & Sustainable Future. Interested in Indian fashion? Be sure to check out the fashion show "6 Yards of Love." At Hamara Music Group Eindhoven presents 'The Regional Tunes of India', powered by Spotlight/ASML you can enjoy all the local Indian musical talents. In the coming weeks, we'll be adding even more to the programme.
